Here's how you can save a PDF of a webpage from Google Chrome or Safari...

To be honest, there aren’t many scenarios where you would necessarily need to do this anymore. When you make a purchase, buy tickets or book an appointment, it is fairly customary to be sent an invoice, receipt or booking confirmation via email. Moreover, with many leading stores - like Amazon - you are now required to make an account. Via your account, you have instant access to a record of your entire purchase history and invoices. This in ‘tech terms’ is known as a customer portal.

However, there are occasions when emails don’t get sent or are not sent within an allotted time frame yet you need access to them quicker. You may even get the heads up on the browser at the time of purchase reading ‘please make a copy of this as proof of purchase…etc.’ For big purchases like flights or for suppliers that you haven’t used before and are not 100% sure about after due diligence but there is no alternative, it may be worthwhile to get into the habit of saving a PDF of the webpage as a backup for proof of purchase.

Beyond transactions, there may be a vital or really useful piece of information on a website that you want a permanent record of. It could be a piece of journalism, instructions or whatever. Saving it as a bookmark doesn’t necessarily mean when you go back to it, it will be the exact same information as you saw it. Pages can be continuously updated and edited. So saving a PDF guarantees you have access to the same information. The other reason is that you may just want to be able to access it offline.

Whatever your scenario may be, here is how you can save a PDF of a webpage from Google Chrome.
