What is your role at Appdrawn?
I am a consultant; I act as a bridge between our clients, our design team and our development team to transform client challenges into deliverable applications using Appdrawn's consultation, design and build process.
How did you get into the software industry?
I come from a design and engineering background, and software felt like a natural progression as it combines problem‑solving, understanding user behaviour and turning ideas into practical solutions.
What's the best thing about working in software?
The variety. You often start with a vague problem and end up creating a product that tangibly improves the lives of the people who use it. As every client, industry and challenge is slightly different, you're constantly exposed to new ideas and ways of working.

If you weren't working in tech, what would you be doing?
I'd likely be doing something related to Classics. I've always been fascinated by how ancient civilisations engineered things like the Antikythera mechanism (so arguably tech-adjacent!).
What's your favourite way to switch off after work?
Visiting a gallery or exhibition, spending time with family and friends or (most often) reading a few chapters of a murder mystery.
What piece of technology/app/platform do you wish had never been invented?
Infinite scroll — particularly when combined with a recommendation algorithm. From experience, it's an incredibly effective piece of design!
What's your favourite book you've ever read?
It tends to change, but my favourite of the last year is A Rose for Winter by Laurie Lee.
iPhone or Android?
iPhone!
