What is your role at Appdrawn?
I am a Consultant at Appdrawn, meaning I am a main point of contact between clients and our internal technical team. My day‑to‑day ranges from discussing and scoping new features and projects with clients, to supporting testing and delivery of software once ready.
What makes a good software consultant/engineer/tester?
Good technical understanding, strong communication skills, and a drive to work collaboratively, the latter probably being the most important.
What's the most interesting part of working with clients?
I most enjoy the process of discussing the problem and figuring out the right solution together.
If you weren't working in tech, what would you be doing?
In another life, I could imagine myself as a chef, or perhaps an actor. I have been told I can be quite dramatic, and I can't help but notice my choices don't argue against that.
What's your favourite way to switch off after work?
I am an avid competitive gamer. Intensely focusing on winning in‑game helps me to unwind somehow!
What's the most useful piece of software you use every day?
Everything within the Google Workspace; I have used it for as long as I can remember and can't imagine stopping anytime soon.
If you could have dinner with anyone, living or dead, who would it be?
I'm drawn to the idea of choosing someone from a completely different point in time, to see how different, and yet how similar, life might be. For that reason, I would choose Marcus Aurelius, who I think would make for fascinating and inspiring conversation.
